CONTINENT and COUNTRIES PROJECT

Dear students,
Welcome to today's lesson.

HOW CAN WE CREATE AN INFORMATIVE BROCHURE TO INFORM TRAVELERS?

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 2 minutes

I.   I can explain and use the project assessment Rubric correctly.

2. I have understood the project task and I will support my group by creating a travel/tour brochure.




A)  ASSESSMENT RUBRIC. 3 MINUTES.

What is a rubric?

Is a table with guidance designed to guide students on how to evaluate the quality of their projects.

1. Take three minutes to discuss the rubric in your groups and ask questions if any area is not clear.

B) ASSIGN GROUP PROJECT.  

PROJECT TASK: 
CREATE AN INFORMATIVE BROCHURE.


You as experts in your continent, you will be making at least a three-fold brochure to create awareness and advice travelers/tourists about two specific countries to visit in your group continent.

You are expected to draw the continent, include any five countries and capital cities inside the continent, select any two countries and share detailed information about their capital cities, physical features and tourist attractions, famous hotels, climate, currency, language, religion and other interesting facts to travelers/tourist.

Requirements;   manila paper, a pair of scissors, pencils, colored pencils, ruler, text and pictures / images.
Imust:

¢Be colorful
¢Work as a team to score excellent points.
¢Have lots of facts – But not too much writing all in the same place!
¢Have pictures or drawings
¢Organized
¢Clear and easy to read
¢At least 5 Facts on each area of interest

N/B: Who can demonstrate to the class how to create a brochure from the manila paper?








GROUPS:





Group 1.  Africa

Group 2.  Asia

Group 3.  North America

Group 4.  Oceania / Australia

Group 5.   Europe.

Group 6.  South America


Task 1.       20 minutes
- Plan and assign your team members' roles /duties.
- Get your group supplies.
- Start planning the project as you refer to the RUBRIC.
- Make sure each member has key roles in the project.


- By end of the first lesson;
1.  Have your brochure folded into three folds or more.
2.  The brochure should have a creatively designed project    title ( the continent name)
3. The brochure should have a table of content.
4. Draw the continent, five countries, capital cities.
